WEB204 » 05) Usability Testing Your Website Interface Plan & Kit
The primary aspect of Usability Testing, as described by Usability.gov, is the technique used to evaluate a product by testing it with representative users. And, in the test, these users will try to complete typical tasks while observers watch, listen and take notes.
You and your team will be running a Usability Testing study on your website interface consisting of 3 tasks and up to 8 student participants.
Requirements:
- Each team should prepare a Usability Test Plan that includes but is not limited to: a) Introduction, b) the Research Question(s), c) Target Audience Info, d) Methods, e) Logistics, f) 3 Tasks, and g) Data Collection & Reporting.
- To Conduct your study you should prepare a Usability Test Kit that includes but is not limited to: a) the Consent Form, b) Pre-Test Questionnaire, c) The Moderator Task List & Participant Task Cards (of 3 tasks), d) Post-Test Questionnaire e) The Test Script and f) The Notes Form.
- We will be Conducting the Sessions with your fellow students using a) the Think Aloud Protocol and b) Recording the Session using Google Hangouts via YouTube. You should run some test sessions with your team. ;-)
- Post a link to this assignment in the comments section AND print it out to turn in as your Usability Testing Your Website Interface Plan & Kit assignment according to the class Schedule (Winter) or Schedule (Spring).
